Recycling

Ink Cartridge Collection

We still are collecting your used-up printer cartridges. There is a collection box in the room between the Circle Room and the door to the Chapel. Currently Staples is accepting these for recycling and paying $3.00 for each cartridge turned in to them. Though the church account is limited to turning in 20 cartridges per month, this gives the church $60 in Staples Rewards that can be redeemed for any type of office supplies available there. It does help, and we thank you for participating in this program.

Pop Tab Collections

Collecting pop tabs may seem like a trivial thing to do, but it makes a big difference in the lives of children and their families who are experiencing one of the most difficult times of their lives.

It is also something that anyone can do, whether you are 3, 33, or 103 years old.  Not only are we recycling the most pure high-quality aluminum of the pop can, but we're helping to raise funds to help the children and their families.

Bring your tabs to church.  There's a collection container in the entry to the Circle Room.  When we collect a significant amount, they are sent to the local RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITY Chapter.  Then the chapter "cashes" them in with a local recycling center.

Did you ever think it could be so easy to help families in need?

CAMPBELL'S LABELS FOR EDUCATION

What a simple way to help a school!  Clip the UPC barcode along with the Campbell's logo for the "Labels for Education" program.

Bring your labels to church and place them in the collection container in the entry to the Circle Room.

We collect labels for the McCurdy School in New Mexico.  The McCurdy School is a project related to the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church.  Last year, the school redeemed their labels for a new Dodge Minivan for their transportation fleet.  How many labels did it take?  1.5 million!  What a blessing!

The school's mission is:

  • to provide quality education in a Christ centered environment;

  • to help students develop a Christian value system;

  • to encourage students to acknowledge a rich cultural diversity;

  • to empower students to develop a lifelong love for learning;

  • to equip students with strong skills in writing and math computation;

  • to guide students to reaching their highest potential as children of God.

EYE GLASS COLLECTION

We have a collection box sponsored by the Painesville Lions Club where you can donate your old glasses.

Lions Clubs were challenged by Helen Keller in 1925 to become "Knights for the Blind."  The Lions Club works to help people living in the Painesville area who need vision services when they can't afford them.  They've been helping people in the Painesville-Perry Area for 65 years.
