The
Painesville United Methodist
Youth Group Welcomes You!
The
Painesville United Methodist Youth Group is a fun and exciting
way to spend a Sunday evening or afternoon. As the social
aspect of the youth ministry of the church we participate in
several types of activities throughout the year.
We
do a variety of things from movies to bowling to serving food at
the soup kitchen and raking leaves for shut-ins. Although
we are a social group we are God-centered and plan events based
on several things; fun activities, discussions on current
issues, and also community service.
Our
meetings are normally at 6:30 p.m. and go till 8:00 p.m.,
but do vary based on the activity. We always meet at the
church first. Call
the church office with any questions.
PMS Stitchers
You don't have to don a Bonnet to Help!
The PMS
(Painesville Methodist Stitchers) Group needs helpers to create
(knit or crochet) baby hats for newborns, and, if you are not
able to come to the church on Thursdays between 10:00 a.m. and
2:00 p.m. you could make them at home while you are watching TV
or on a lunch break at work! The Stitchers will furnish
both patterns and yarn; all they need are your talents and time.
Please let family
and friends who might be interested know as well. Call the
church office for more details.
Link
Up with Our Prayer Chain
A
chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
The PUMC Prayer
Chain is such an important part of the ministry of our
church. When anyone
is in need of prayer, that person's name is given to Phyllis
Howell, our Prayer Chain Coordinator, who in turn calls the
Captain of Team 1. As
that person's name is passed through the Captains and members of
our 10 teams, they can rest assured that they are surrounded by
prayer. Each person
who joins the team has an obligation to make only one phone
call. If a team
member cannot do this, he or she should call Phyllis at 357-0390
to see how to remedy the communication breakdown.
Several people can no longer be a part of the chain for
various reasons. We
would welcome new "links," as we can never
underestimate the power of prayer.
Please call Phyllis to say you would like to be a part of
this vital prayer ministry of the church.
