Music

Adult Choir

This is one of our newest choirs. They perform at various times under the direction of Robert Thompson. Practice is held on Sundays at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Wouldn't you like to add your voice to the mix?  Music is an important part of our church's worship service and its ministry, and an opportunity for you to share your own personal talents and mission in a very special way. If you are interested in adding your voice to the group, please call the church office at 440-354-3642.

Collins Bell Choir

This is our adult handbell group.  Featured monthly at primarily our 11:00 a.m. worship service as well as special services, we are comprised of a four-octive set of Petit Fritzen (Dutch) handbells that are one of our church's finest treasures.  Once you hear their sound, I think you will agree we are indeed blessed to have such a wonderful ministry!  We would welcome anyone with a basic music-reading knowledge to come and give it a try!  Rehearsals are each Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. There are currently a few 'first bell' positions that need to be filled.  Please contact Mary Brown through the church office if you are interested!  The Collins Bell Choir will be on break for the summer and will resume in September.

Children and Youth Music

Morning Glory
The Morning Glory Youth Praise Band performs at various times throughout the year. They perform contemporary worship songs. The band practices on Sunday afternoons in Sanctuary. If you are interested in joining Morning Glory, contact the church office at 440-354-3642

Chapel Kids
The youngest choir at our church is the Chapel Kids. There are boys and girls between the ages of 3-6(pre-schoolers through first grade). They meet every Sunday during the school year in the Chapel from 9:00 to 9:30 and are then taken to their Sunday School classes. Director is Ingrid Balstad. All boys and girls are welcome to join at any time during the year. The choir sings once a month at the 9:45 Service, and then the children are taken to their respective Sunday School classes.

Children's Choir
The older children sing in the Children's Choir. The ages of this group includes boys and girls who are in grades 2-5. They meet at 9:00 in the upstairs Choir Room in the educational building. Their director is Carol Ford. Mr. Jerry Marshall is their accompanist.  They sing at the 9:30 service once a month and usually sit in the choir loft. The boys and girls sing all different types of songs and do two-part as well as unison material.

The Whitefield Girls Ensemble
This choir is one of the oldest choirs of our church. It dates back more than 50 years. Any girl in grades 6-12 is welcome to become a member of this choir. Mrs. Carol Ford is the director and Mrs. Bernadine McFarren is our wonderful accompanist. Mrs. Ford had been directing this group since 1971 and Mrs. McFarren has been accompanying since 1981. The girls sing a variety of styles of music, some very old and some contemporary. This choir meets on Sunday mornings.

Youth Hand Bells
Our Youth Hand Bell Choir is quite outstanding. We play Dutch Bells which are about 40 years old. We have 5 octaves and can always find a spot for new members. No experience is necessary as we have "on-the-job-training". The bell choir rings at the 9:45 service and often accompanies hymn singing. We rehearse in the bell choir room in the upper level of the Circle Room on Sunday afternoons at 4:30 p.m.. The members of this group are youth in grades 6-12. Carol Ford directs the hand bells.

Children's Bells
The Children's Bells are boys and girls grades 1-5 and are a preparatory group for the Youth Bell Choir. The boys and girls learn the basics of bell ringing and the technique involved. They don't ring in church as a rule, but have lots of fun at their rehearsals. The rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-7:30 with Mrs. Ford in the Bell Room above the Circle Room.
