Welcome to the journey!
Let me be one of the first to say, Welcome to the Painesville United Methodist Church, an East Ohio Conference Lighthouse Church! We trust you experienced a warm and genuine welcome from members and friends as soon as you walked through the doors – or visited via this website.
We invite you to come as you are. We are a United Methodist Congregation that seeks to love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength and to love one another as Christ loves us. With the help of God’s Holy Spirit, we intend to live in the world as the Body of Christ, expressing God’s transforming love and amazing grace in our church, our community, and wherever we go in the world God so loves.
Our 1873 Cornerstone has these words inscribed: “Search the Scriptures.” We are inspired that this is part of the founding vision of Painesville UMC and is yet current and fitting for today.
With this founding vision driving us, we are a church that seeks to practice “Open hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors” in the best ways described in Scripture.

Happy Advent!
We invite you to join us in celebrating the arrival of baby Jesus! Worship in person on Sundays at 8:30am or 10am, or join us on WKKY Radio or YouTube on Sundays at 10am!
On Tuesday, December 24th we will have two Christmas Eve services; join us at 7pm or 11pm.
The Church Office will be open on December 26th from 9am-12pm. If you have ordered a Christmas poinsettia we invite you to take it with you after worship on Christmas Eve, or you may pick it up during our Thursday office hours from 9am-12pm this Thursday, December 26th. Poinsettias left behind after this time will be considered a donation.
- If you need to reach us outside of these office hours in the next week, we invite you to leave a voicemail at 440-354-3642 in the general mailbox and we will check messages regularly
We will have one worship service at 10am next Sunday, December 29th.
We will also have one worship service at 10am on Sunday, January 5th with communion.
Our historic White Gift service will take place on January 12th during both worship services – 8:30 and 10am.
