Justin Roberts & the Not Ready for Naptime Players…
...Unexpectedly Intelligent and Whimsically Rocking Music for Kids

Three-time GRAMMY Nominee Justin Roberts is truly one of the “all-stars” of the indie family music scene. For more than 20 years, Justin has been creating the soundtrack to families’ lives, crafting songs that navigate the joys and sorrows of growing up. Justin’s latest recording for families titled Lemonade, is “an absolute gem” according to Paste Magazine. He logs thousands of miles on the road each year performing for his devoted fan base. Live shows include classics like the fist-pumping “Pop Fly” and parent favorite, “Stay-At-Home Dad” with its very own 80’s pop anthem song break. It’s the spontaneity and humor that really shows the band’s polish and love of performing for young audiences. That’s what’s made Justin Roberts one of the genre’s most enduring musicians.

Jim Hendricks

Sunday, February 10, 2019

4:00 p.m.

Pianist Jim Hendricks grabbed the attention of musicians and family members as a young child with the uncanny ability to play anything he heard on records and memorize any printed music that came across the piano. While still in grammar school, Jim was able to transcribe by ear complex harmonies nd melodies – without the use of a piano. He continued intensive musical studies and was considered a professional as a teenager.

While he was on tour with the Glenn Miller Orchestra (the band still continues its concert tours since Miller’s death in the War), Jim felt a very strong call from the Lord to use his musical gifts for the glory of God. Already being a dedicated Christian for many years, he knew it was time to follow his calling into Christian ministry.

Jim has performed more than 1,300 Christian piano concerts in churches all across the land, including several appearances at the former Crystal Cathedral. He has made fourteen piano recordings, performed on ABC, CBS, TBN and PAX, authored the book Contemporary Arrangements for Today’s Church Pianist, and been featured in Clavier piano journal. The Lord has greatly blessed his decision to bring glory to Christ through music.

Dennis Scott, silent film orgaanists

The Boat & The Navigator

Friday, May 17, 2019

7:00 p.m.

Dennis Scott will "wow" us by accompanying two, Buster Keaton silent films, The Boat & The Navigator. From IMDB, The Boat is about Buster and his family going on a voyage on his homemade boat that proves to be one disaster after another. And, The Navigator, is about two spoiled rich people who find themselves trapped on an empty passenger ship.

Dennis is house organist at Chicago’s historic Music Box Theatre, playing weekend intermissions, the annual Sing-Along Sound of Music, the annual Music Box Christmas Sing-Along, several themed film festivals, special events, and the award-winning Second Saturday Silent Cinema Series, which was named Best New Film Series of 2011 by Chicago Magazine and Best Matinee Film Series of 2012 by the Chicago Reader.

Dennis is the official organist for the International Buster Keaton Society and accompanies silent Keaton films every year for their convention, held in Muskegon, Michigan, where Buster spent much of his childhood.
